Comeback Sunday
Everyone loves a comeback story, don’t they?
Our church has a pretty impressive comeback story, if we do say so ourselves. If you were part of our church family in October 2018 or anytime since you definitely know this to be true! We had two buildings destroyed by Hurricane Michael (one a total loss), endured lengthy insurance settlement and construction delays, and then faced the effects of a global pandemic. But guess what? We’re still alive and kicking.
We have designated September 12, 2021 as Comeback Sunday. On that day we’ll remember our journey over the past three years and celebrate the faithfulness of God and His people. It’s also an occasion to welcome and invite folks to “come back” to church.
Invite everyone! Worship will be at regular times, 8:30 and 10 am (online as well), and afterward we’ll have a catered lunch for everyone who wants to come and enjoy fellowship.
As is our custom, we don’t want the celebration to just be about us. We’re part of the Body of Christ after all! So in addition to celebrating, Comeback Sunday is all about SERVING OTHERS! A generous contribution from one of our church families is covering all costs of the Comeback Sunday meal so we’re asking everyone in attendance to consider “paying it forward” with an offering that day to be sent to our ministry partners in Mexico, Uganda and Honduras for food programs to help people suffering as a result of COVID-19.
We are praying for God’s will as He completes the comeback of the Lynn Haven Methodist, and we hope you will part of the celebration of His good work in and through our church!
