Deliverance From Complaining

Then Moses led the people of Israel away from the Red Sea, and they moved out into the desert of Shur. They traveled in this desert for three days without finding any water. When they came to the oasis of Marah, the water was too bitter to drink. Then the people complained and turned against Moses. “What are we going to drink?” they demanded. So Moses cried out to the Lord for help… (Exodus 15:22-25a NLT)

Then the whole community of Israel set out from Elim and journeyed into the wilderness of sin…There, too, the whole community of Israel complained about Moses and Aaron. (Exodus 16:1-2 NLT)

Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “How long must I put up with this wicked community and its complaints about me? Yes, I have heard the complaints the Israelites are making against me.” (Numbers 14:26-27 NLT)

Do everything without complaining or arguing. (Philippians 2:14 GWT)

Don’t complain as some of [the Israelites] did. The angel of death destroyed them. (1 Corinthians 10:10 GWT)

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are my Deliverer. You are rescuing me from seeing the wilderness as a place to escape from to seeing it as the place where I can embrace you and depend on You. It is the place where desperation for relief turns into delight in Your nearness. Today I receive Your deliverance from complaining. Thank You that You and Your ways are all I need, and help me to behold You, for as I behold You, I become more and more like You, changed into Your glorious image. Here I am Lord, I am Yours, and You are mine. Live in me as I seek to live in You. Amen.
