Next Steps

YOUR SPIRITUAL GROWTH PLAN

If you have questions about your Next Step, we are here to help! Email Pastor Mindy Clemons at MClemons@LHM.online for more information.

Growing people change. No matter where you are in life, you will always have a next step to grow in your relationship with Jesus.

  1. TELL SOMEONE
Becoming a Christian is exciting news! Share that good news with others. Tell the story of how God has worked in your life.
  2. GET BAPTIZED AND JOIN THE CHURCH
Baptism publicly celebrates becoming a Christian and receiving a new identity in Christ. It is a powerful symbol of rebirth and what Jesus did for us and is something we are commanded to do. It signifies publicly that you are now a part of the church community. We do baptisms and accept new church members on the first Sunday of the month. Contact us if you are interested in being baptized or joining the church.
  3. REGULARLY PARTICIPATE IN PUBLIC WORSHIP
Weekly commitment to public worship is a crucial part of being a member of the church family. We grow together spiritually and share the same vision when we worship together. We use our spiritual gifts to minister to one another and reach those not yet reached for Christ.
  4. READ THE BIBLE
One of the most important things Christians do is read the Bible regularly. Spend time each day reading God’s Word. We can get you a Bible if you need one, help you find a daily reading plan, and connect you with others who will help you process what you are reading.
  5. PRAY
Daily prayer is simply talking to God. You do not have to use big words, just talk to God like He was a friend. Make prayer time a regular part of your day.
  6. BEGIN GENEROUS GIVING
God has generously given us all that we have. With that, He makes us overseers of His resources. Regular giving to the church (starting with tithing) acknowledges His Lordship of our life and expresses our gratitude for all He has given us.
  7. JOIN A SMALL GROUP
Connect to a small group and build Christian community. Small groups share, learn, and “do life together” as they grow in Christ. This is what Jesus did with the 12 disciples.
  8. SERVE
You become like Christ as you serve others. God has uniquely gifted, called, and equipped you to serve others in impactful ways. The church is not just a place where you come and sit, the church is a place where we live out our faith in action by serving others. Use your talents and time to serve in the church and in the community.
  9. INVITE OTHERS TO JOIN YOU
One of the best and easiest ways to tell people about your new faith is to invite them to your worship service and other ministries of the church.
  10. FIND A MENTOR
Ask a more mature believer if they would be willing to coach you in the basics of the Christian life. Ask them to guide you in your spiritual life and to hold you accountable.
  11. BE A MENTOR
Prayerfully ask God to show you a new believer who is hungry to learn the basics of the Christian life. Invest in their spiritual journey and be a cheerleader for their spiritual growth.
  12. BECOME A MULTIPLIER
Teach others how to be intentional investors in the lives of new believers so they can repeat the process.
Baptism & Membership @ Lynn Haven Methodist

We would love to baptize you as a public profession of your faith in Jesus! We offer baptism by immersion once a month, and once a year we do baptisms in the bay. We also do infant baptism and dedication ceremonies on request.

Baptism

Last September we performed baptisms in the bay at Kinsaul Park in Lynn Haven. We typically conduct baptisms in the bay 1 – 2 times a year. Additionally, we perform monthly baptisms in our baptismal at the church at 3203 Minnesota Ave, Panama City, FL 32405.

We invite anyone interested in baptism to contact Pastor Mindy Clemons, mclemons@lhm.online to discuss the process and requirements.
