This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Matthew 1:1 NIV

As the son of Abraham, Jesus comes to us and shows that…

1) God’s DREAM is promise fulfillment.

For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.
Galatians 3:26, 29 NLT

For all of God’s promises have fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.

2) God’s DEMAND is obedience.

It was by faith Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land. He went without knowing where he was going.

3) God’s DESIRE  is blessing.

“I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”
Genesis 12:2-3 NLT

Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith.
