Your Story

Every day we can tell stories of how God has been active in our lives. We don’t have to be Bible experts or have all the answers to difficult theological questions.  We just need to be ready to share our own experiences, and to state clearly and simply how God has been active in our lives. We are simply a “witness” to what we have seen, heard, and experienced.

“Listen and I will tell you what God has done for me.” Psalm 66:16

As you reflect on how God has been working in your life recently, work your way through these steps:

  • What was the situation?

What happened, what was your primary emotion?

  • How was God active?

What happened? Narrate your story in 3-5 short sentences.

  • Who to encourage?

Who could you share this story with? Name specific people or situations where you might share.

  • Tell your story.

Practice telling your story with a friend.

  • Ask God.

Ask God for opportunities to share your story and trust the Holy Spirit’s guidance.

Watch this 10 minute teaching video on Telling Your Story from our staff that works through these steps:

We Are Called to Pray & Fast

The purpose of prayer is to…

1) Foster a relationship with God.

2) Move into the realm  of God.

3) Exhibit reverence for God.

4) Desire the realization of God’s Kingdom.

Now it came to pass, as [Jesus] was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.” So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”

Luke 11:1-4 NKJV

Fasting

1) Focuses our attention on God in prayer.

2) Enables us to live in union with God.

3) Unlocks the supernatural power of God.

And when you fast, don’t make it obvious, as the hypocrites do, for they try to look miserable and disheveled so people will admire them for their fasting. I tell you the truth, that is the only reward they will ever get. But when you fast, comb your hair and wash your face. Then no one will notice that you are fasting, except your Father, who knows what you do in private. And your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

Matthew 6:16-18 NLT

And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed. Acts 14:23 (ESV)

Join us in person each Thursday at noon in the Worship Center to pray!

What is the purpose of prayer? Why should we fast?

In a recent sermon series, our pastors discussed these topics & shared ideas on how we can connect to our Father in heaven in a deeper way by doing these things on a regular basis.

Have you been exercising these disciplines? If not we encourage you to start today!

Then when you have established this practice as habit, watch how God will move in your life!

We would love to hear your story of how you have drawn closer to God, or experienced transformation in an area of your life, through prayer and/or fasting. Fill out the form below to share today!

If you would like to hear these sermons again (or for the 1st time!) check out our sermon archives page here

As a church, we have designated Thursdays as a day of fasting as a means of replacing our hunger for food with a hunger for the nearness of God. Will you join us?

Share Your Healing Testimony

We began 2024 with a sermon series titled “Follow the Healer” by Stephen Seamands. As this series comes to a close, it is our sincere hope that the messages you’ve heard have blessed you and reminded you of the power of healing found in Jesus Christ.

We didn’t want to let this series end without providing an opportunity for God’s people to share of His power at work in their lives or the lives of a friend or family member.

We would love to hear your personal testimonies of God’s goodness in your life. Please take a few moments to share your story in whichever way is most preferable:

  • In person: write it out on one of the colored papers located on the two prayer tables in the front of the worship center, or
  • Online: submit an email to our Groups Minister, Mindy Clemons.

Have a story you would like to share with our staff?
