About Foster Closet

Kelley Close (center), her daughter Hannah and Katie Fanning work to get the Foster Closet stocked and ready to serve local foster and adoptive families!

The Lynn Haven Methodist Foster Closet is a resource to help local families who take in a child on short notice. By quickly providing a few sets of clothing, essential hygiene products and spiritual encouragement, the Foster Closet aims to help meet the basic needs of children while also uplifting the adults who are caring for them.

The Foster Closet serves foster and adoptive families as well as relative caregivers and others who take in children who have been abused or neglected in some way.

Emily, a local adoptive mom, recently received items from the Foster Closet for a newborn baby her family took in on very short notice. Emily shared: “We were unprepared in every way. While we were out of town picking her up, the Foster Closet provided us with some essential items needed for her arrival. We are so grateful for the generosity given to us.”

The Foster Closet needs regular donations of NEW items, including clothing (all sizes), blankets, toothbrushes, backpacks, underwear and diapers. Donations can be dropped off at the church office (3203 Minnesota Avenue) or purchased and shipped via the Foster Closet Wish List on Amazon.

Contact care@lhm.online or 850-265-5231 for more information or to identify a need.
