Experiencing God Reality #6: You must make major adjustments in your life to join God in what He is doing.
Moses left Midian…[and] took his wife and sons, put them on a donkey, and headed back to the land of Egypt.
Exodus 4:19-20a NLT
But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.”
1 Samuel 15:22-23 NLT
Reasons We Don’t Make the Adjustments Needed to Do God’s Will
1) We listen to ____________________________________ rather than to God.
Saul said to Samuel, “I was afraid of the people and gave in to them.”
1 Samuel 15:24 NIV
2) We think we know __________________________________ than God does.
Saul and his men spared Agag’s life and kept the best of the sheep and goats, and cattle…everything that appealed to them. They destroyed only what was worthless or of poor quality.
1 Samuel 15:9 NLT
3) We believe _____________________________ obedience is good enough.
Saul answered, “They spared the best of the sheep and cattle…but we totally destroyed the rest.”
1 Samuel 15:15 NIV
